Traditional Arctic Marble by Phoenix-Cry Traditional Arctic Marble by Phoenix-Cry
My latest work a traditionally mounted arctic marble fox. This is a ranch raised fox that is a color mutation of the the red fox.

Impressive work as always! :D
I've never seen a traditional mount of an arctic marble, and i have to say, it's a lot easier to see and appreciate its colour and beauty :D x

This one was skinned and tanned special for proper traditional taxidermy, which is not easy to find. most arctic marbles are skinned and tanned for the garment industry and really can't be mounted like this. I paid extra for this guy so that I could do a traditional mount. I'm pleased you like!!

Wow, lovely!
I like these traditionals alright, but they always seem more...dead...than soft/poseable mounts to me. I guess it's because they feel so stiff and hard.

Thanks!

funny, I always think the soft mounts always look more dead since they look like they have no muscle tone.

Thank you very much for not soft mounting it! :D
In my opinion only a traditional mount can express the natural beauty of an animal
not some plushie

This one did turn out with more of a "Oh Hia!! how are you?!" expression than I was planning, but I like it!

Heehee. I have been searching for an arctic marble that was skinned and tanned for taxidermy for a very long time before I found this one. most of the arctics I've gotten my hands on simply weren't even good enough to be traditional mounted. ;)

I know right? Theyre always for clothes, not for mounting. quite a shame, especially with very rare colors.

yup, even on the occations where they do have their lips, feet and ears they tend to be garment tanned which does not have the right stretch for going over a form.
