The Beauchene Fox

This may be the coolest thing I've made in a long time.

This is known as a Beauchene Skull, sometimes called an exploded skull. The skull has many bones with suture joints. In the Beauchene Skull these bones are disarticulated. This gives you a chance to see all the bones from all directions in the proper anatomical orientation. I've never seen one done with an animal skull, until now!

I got the metal clamps and springs, and copper rods from a surplus store that sells random stuff. I drilled little holes to connect the copper rods and such. It was painstaking.

I'll finish it up by staining the wood platform with a nice deep cherry.
