I swore I was done with the face, but I couldn't leave it the way it was. I am never going to finish this painting. it will haunt me till the day I die (soon if I don't stop painting and get some freaking sleep!).
Things I changed from the last version: Longer hair, secondary layer of hair that is shorter in front, raised the forehead line, lowered the ears, lowered the lips (all 9 layers of them), lengthened the chin, squared out the jaw, new eyebrows, changed the neck line.
The real kick in the ass is that this is just a 'detail' of a *much* larger work. The First Rule of War WIP: [link]
In the end this will be a full body work with an actual background (that's something new for me), and a short story to go with it. I'm pushing and testing my digital skillz. I'm actually completly shocked by how well it's turning out!
I'd like to thank my friends over at SArmy who have been giving me pointers through the process.
Art is never finished...only abandoned.
