Stargate Exile tattoo by Phoenix-Cry Stargate Exile tattoo by Phoenix-Cry
An updated pic of my Stargate tattoo now that it isn't so red and swollen. It doesn't shine like this in real life, but I can never get a good photo without a shine on it! Grrrr!! The flowers are Bleeding Heart.

The Address goes to my made up world of Idlewyld.

Here's a pic of when it was fresh, it was soooo swollen: [link]

I don't mind ya getting one on the wrist, I doubt we will ever meet the same people. And the wrist was not all that painful, plus it only took like fifteen minutes. Send pics!!

Very beautiful, seriously !
I also researched to make a tattoo in Goa'uld language but I didn't found any sentence or any gate adress so I maked the symbol A (I've a photo in my featured).

Oh, I understand ! The gate symbols of SG-1 are very beautiful, isn't it ! I prefer these symbols than Atlantis symbols. x)

The Atlantis symbols are too blocky. the original gate symbols are more elegant.

I'm not big fan of tattoos, but I love this. If I'd ever get one, I think I would choose my inner wrist as well. And now I want to plant bleeding hearts ... *g* (and read the series again ... I stopped counting how often so far)

I think I know now what I'd want to get ... the words "child of the universe", taken from Max Ehrmann's "Desiderata" [link]
But I'm still too unsure about permanently modifying my body, so for the moment being I stick to using henna - somehow the heat in Africa boiled by head until I sat there under my mosquito net, writing the words on my wrist with a toothpick dipped in black henna paste ...

yeah, the problem is that I haven't finished university yet, and I have no clue what profession I might end up in (as a linguist you never know ...), so it's better to wait until I know about that, say dress code ;D

Honey I see surgeons with tattoos hanging out of their scrubs these days, tattoos are no longer for sailors and drug addicts.

I really enjoy it and when people ask "What is that?" I always just say that it is star signs and they leave me alone. If someone reconizes it we instantly have something to talk about. If you get one let me know, I'd love to see it!

Most tattoos cost 75 no matter how small cause of all the stuff they have to use to do a tattoo, this cost a little more cause I went to a really good artist to make sure it was done right

Makes plenty of sense. I know people that do tattoo art, so I might be able to manage something cheaper. I do know a shop in town that is somewhat good, and their price range is about 75-100 as well. I need a job lol

There ist is! Thnx for pointing it out to me - although I'm not a Stargate insider, I consider it greatly cool you got it as it shows the dedication and this I understand oh so well.
I'd love to get one myself on the arm/hand/neck, but work wouldn't allow it :(

the nice thing about the wrist tattoo on the left side is that with a watch no one can see it.

What's the point of origin?

could be a made up address, but has to at leave some place.

The point of origin would be whatever planet you started from. You don't need the point of origin in an address, you only need to know the point of origin for whatever planet that you're on. Earth's address is the same no matter where you start from the 'seven' is always just where ever you happen to be. Address are only six glyphs long. This way you can get 'home' (in this case Idlewyld) no matter where you are.

Thanks! I was impressed with how well the artist inked the small symbols as well. I'm a very hardcore Stargate fan. :giggle: I've written so many stories and novels that I felt there were enough of my life to get the tattoo done. Also anyone who doesn't know what Stargate is I just tell them that the tattoo is constellation and they accept that (it is the truth afterall)
