Silver Deerby ~Phoenix-Cry

I got in a very strange deer for mounting today. Sold as a 'piebald', but that's a normal colored deer with white patches. This one is more silver. I'm not sure what the mutation is called...but it's awesome.

This doe fawn was found dead on a deer farm.

Top is the silver bottoms is a normal.

I saw a leucistic hen pheasant, she used to live near us, and was really bold and wandered through our garden...she dissappeared though, probably caught by a fox or shot

I don't think one can be 'slightly leucistic' giggle that's like being slightly albino. I think she's got a dilute gene.

I would think a leucisitc hen would be like a beacon for predators!

Apparently you CAN be slightly leucistic, and slightly albino=leucistic

Albino= no pigment at all, always red eyes.
Partial albino= no pigment and blue eyes/some pigment but red eyes
Leucistic= some pigment and blue eyes
Partial lecuistic= more pigment than usual

- I've been studying animal and human genetics in my college class, and I have an albino (human) friend. Her eyes are extrememly blood-red and very photophobic though.

That makes no genetic sense since both of those traits are recessive, there must be a different gene at play.

Not easy being albino even as a human. I met one leucistic person, she was stunning, white hair pale skin, powder blue eyes. Both her parents must have been carriers because they both had dark hair/eyes.
