Description
This is a rare mutation of a grey fox that has no guard hairs only his under coat! This is a recessive unstable gene, meaning that a Sampson fox can shed into a normal fox and back again. This mutation was once thought to be a part of cryptology, and often mistaken for a chupacabra.
This mutation is more commonly seen in red foxes and in the ranched fox. I've only ever heard one other sampson gray fox and as far as I know this is the only mounted one.
I had a lot of fun doing this fox! Even though the fur on the shoulder slipped a bit which is why there is so much grass right there.
