Every once in a great while I go on an art tear and for reasons I don't understand art comes so much easier to me than other days. Sometimes I will sit down and draw for hours and it's just...awful. Other times I'll pic up my tablet and pen and the drawing just works without an struggle at all. I think this week has been one of the lucky ones that just 'work'. Muses are a fickle creatures!
I don't have an actual reference for Matt Smith at this particular angle or expression, so I'm working off a generic ref for the 'looking down' angle and then doing what I can to fit it to his features. I've not done much work with odd point of view angles and my ref for it is just a sketch so...bear with me while I work to get it right.
Put the scar in there now because I *always* forget the scar. Since the hair cut he revealed that scar trails from his forehead nearly halfway back across his skull...ouch.
This is cover art for the next novel in my Lemkin Factor trilogy...although I'm not quite finished writing book two. First in the series was The Lemkin Factor, followed by Civil War, and the arc will end with Rassilon's Wrath.
Despite how it looks those are not actualy tears, more of a 'regeneration energy leak', it will be a little more clear once the gold colour is added.
