Pied Peacock

EDIT: Slightly better pic. Still a hard bird to photo!

This bird died of natural causes on a peacock farm that raises peacocks for their molted feathers.

This is not a great photo and doesn't do this amazing bird justice at all! It is hard to take pics of a shiny bird at night. I'll update with a natural light pic later.

So this is the result of a a seven hour taxidermy marathon! I got him in the mail today, skinned him, washed him, dried him, and mounted him. I'm exhausted, but VERY happy.

I just LOVE him. I haven't come up with a name, but I will soon.

Although the semi open wing pose is a little awkward I simply couldn't bring myself to close his wings and hide the amazing black and white feathers on his wings.

His tail has more copper/purple than I've ever seen in a peacock before, and his neck is lighter blue than normal.

He's never for sale, but if you are interested in a mount such as this I can do one for you...but he'll run 3,000$ There was an amazing amount of work that when into this guy! Peacocks are soooooo fatty. Spent four hours removing fat and grease. My hands are baby butt soft now!
