Pied Doe by Phoenix-Cry Pied Doe by Phoenix-Cry
Look at this beauty that just came in!  A life sized pied doe!  I'm going to have to think long and hard about if I'm going to keep her life sized or if I'm going to cape her out and then do other projects with the rest.  It's very tempting to do a life sized deer, but they are so hard to sell because they are so hard to ship and there aren't many people with room for an adult deer in their homes!  Almost all white!  Three big spots of colour on her neck and a touch around the hooves and that's it!

Farm raised.

Aw man, why the heck did you buy it if you were gonna cut it up!! Thats such a waste.

Waste?  The waste is the fact that its been sitting in a taxidermist freezer for three years because he couldn't find anyone who wanted a life sized mount. This way six different people will get to enjoy products from one deer. If I was going to do a life sized deer it would be a buck with a more interesting pattern.

With the special stuff, my thinking is if you dont have room for it, dont shoot it! I would have defiitely taken it off of his hands to LS it. Nothing less.
Its just a shame to see 75% of the whole deer just chopped off. Just for the head.
With anything unusual like this I dont pick and choose. im thankful for what i get and its just my mindset not to cut up nice things.

No one shot it, it died on a deer farm.  You want to life size it feel free to buy it off me, it's still whole raw in my freezer.  450 plus shipping.

That is another issue with doing him lifesized...no one has the money to pay for one!  :giggle:

You caught me at a bad time!!! LOL Id have enough to buy her three times over if I didnt commission Kanato and have a mount from Leslie to pay off. :faint:

If you do cut her up, I'd be interested in the backhide. She might make for an interesting rug even without the head.

Okay.  I'm 99% sure I'm going to cut her up.  Her back is all white!  She is dorsal cut so the back will need stitching up.

Oh snap, that's a bit more work. Could possibly be do-able. Is she tanned?
