Chapter Fifteen, Withdrawal
"Are you sure you don't want to go to hospital?"
John crossed his arms over his chest as he stood outside the closed bathroom door. On the other side Sherlock wretched noisily again. It had only been a day since the near fatal overdose, but Sherlock was already suffering from withdrawal. Ten minutes later Sherlock came out with his face buried in a towel. John wasn't quite quick enough to move out of the way and Sherlock bumped into him.
"Why are you standing there?" Sherlock demanded in an annoyed tone as he tossed the towel back into the bathroom where it landed on the floor.
"I'm worried about you."
"Well, don't." Sherlock said dismissively.
It had been difficult enough to convince Sherlock to rest the day of the attack, now that a new day had started he was determined to start back on the trail again. Going over to the front do

I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…

I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
