This little guy is at the tanner right now. He was 18 pounds when alive. Smallest Yote I've ever worked with.

He's got awesome color!

I'm thinking of making him a soft mount also called a plushy. If you are interested in having him once he's done let me know. He'll be about 350$

Just curious, how long was this guy? I just got a pup that is only about 5-6 months old, but I think her measurements might be off, but she was under 20lbs too. lol

About 27 inches nose to butt. They stretch out when tanned!

Can you give a guess of how stretched? And I don't suppose you already did this coyote did you?

I did do this yote. He was probably more around 20-22 when he was untanned.

Commission. His name is Ganet he's in my Browse gallery.

Oh, I looked at him, and unless that chair he was in is abnormally small it would seem he's around the same size as my pup, and yet my pup is supposed to be a good bit bigger than him!

Here's my pup, does she look around the same size as Ganet with the paper as a size ref?

Your pup is smaller than Ganet by at least 6-8 inches. Did you get him from Darin in MN?

Hmm.. I had.. a curious question.. about when you end up painting Gannet's ears.. :p

I've been thinking of when you said you were thinking of painting them a brighter color like a tattoo.. and..

Just random thinking, would there in any way be enough space to paint a sun on one ear and a moon on the other? It's been on my mind and I figured I'd ask and get it out of the way. Either way whether you'd be able to or not is fine :aww: I wouldn't even mind paying extra for it. just being a curious little bugger haha.

Wonderful :aww: I love both the sun and moon, especially the sun since my so called song is the you are my sunshine song (I sing it to all of my pets - my mother sang it throughout my birth and while I was growing up.. so.. it's just really special to me!) and.. the moon has always put me in awe. I'm actually glad he has the slippage so doing that to his ears is possible :) wouldn't matter what color they'd be, or what 'style' - though I lean more towards tribals with coyotes for some reason lol.

Awesome! He'll certainly be a 'just for you'! I like that. I'm going to get started on him this weekend.

I was thinking more tribal would work best.

Good good :aww: I definitely can't wait!

Either way, it looks like I'll be getting him even if it means taking a loan from my friend and paying her back by buying her taxidermy supplies as she has suggested to me :p she wants me to have Gannet in the family so badly, I have such amazing friends I swear <3

I can't Wait to see Gannet's face all done and pretty  he's such a gorgeous boy as-is.

Squeee! I have him defrosting as we speak. I'm going to give him a bath in lavender before I mount him...unless you don't like the smell of lavender. Let me know if that works, if not I can get another scent. I was going to put some form of scent beads inside the mount as well, I was gong to do lavender, but again let me know. I thought it would be fun to have a soft mount that gave of a soothing scent.

Oh god he's beyond beautiful, and, would make an absolutely ADORABLE "child" to complete my 'dream' coyote soft mount family :( damn, I hate the fact I won't have the money.. already paying close to 520 to buy Gavin and get him and Gentle plushed, but my god this little guy is STUNNING.

I'm definitely interested, more than interested, but again that whole money thing.. :/ maybe by time you finish him I'll be able to buy him, who knows. I've never quite seen a yote with such beautiful colors, though. Sort of a mixture of Gentle's coloring but Dark like Gavin's silvery-black pelt haha. maybe that's what I'm so drawn to.

How'd you come upon this little lovely, anyway? :)

Sigh, he came back from the tanner with some ear slip. So I'm going to soft mount him up, fix the ears as best I can and then he'll be for sale for a reduced price.

Ooh! That's a shame :( but reduced price.. xD that brightened me up a bit. I don't mind damaged ears..

What do you plan on lower his price to? I figured, for the price Zhon want's for her female pup (which I like but I wasn't 'drawn' to it like I was this guy) I figured a few hundred more and I could get this guy instead..

I'll have to see how well I can patch the ears. But probably looking at 175-200. Something like that.

.. I'll talk to dad about it.

175-200 is much more in my price range.. plus I Really like his colors.. he 'called' to me Instantly. Something I've found I don't get with a lot of pelts even though I really love my yotes.

by this picture his tail looks.. full. Is it skinnier in real life, or just as full as the picture shows here? :)

His tail is his tail. Giggle. Not sure how to make a tail look fuller in a pic so it's just how it is.

I could mount him with no ears and call him 'Frostbite' :giggle:

Then I'm glad his tail is that full :XD:

.. the no ears thing sounds cute xD I have a few characters without ears. <3 I have a coyote face with peeled ears and his ears just sort of.. flop over. I find it adorable.

I mean, if it isn't possible to keep the ears I'd still take him without  all of my lovelies seem to have.. oddities/something 'wrong/off' with them xD! and I love it.

I will try my best to save the ears...but he could be super cute without them. :giggle: Actually the skin is fully intact...I could paint the ears a fun bright color (like a nice turquoise) or something, kinda like the dog/wolf/coyote characters that have 'tattoos'.

We can cross that bridge when we come to it. But I think there are lots of solutions.

He would make a good 'child' he's so tiny. I'd love to see a pic of Gavin when he's done! I can understand the money issue, but I'll let you know when he's done and maybe we can work something out.

I live in MN where coyote are considered 'pests' and he came from a local hunter.

He does have awesome color!

Wonderful :) I actually just sent the coyote pup softie I Did have up to MN xD she kept shedding and had so many flaws I just couldn't stand it :/ but this guy.. he's beautiful.

Do you know what color eyes you'll use for him, by chance? :) my Gavin has dual eyes - one gold, one brown.. and.. you posted on the picture of Gentle nemi did =o so if you remember you got to see her eyes too haha.

Shedding is a sign of a bad tanning job. I send my stuff to be professionally tanned so that doesn't happen.

I had plans of using traditional coyote eyes, the ones I used on my red howling yote.

I saw your soft pup, he had nice eyes, but his ears needed a lot of work. I'm experimenting with the idea of putting 'joints' in this guy so that he's properly poseable, but I haven't decided yet.

I do believe she was wet tanned and just.. eh, turned out badly.. :/ I miss her, but all in all I'm glad she found her 'forever home'.

Adele had so many flaws.. my god.. I don't think I could have bared it longer, I wanted to re-do her legs but that would have been impossible with my stitch-work, lol.

Joints sound neat :) might have those put into Gavin since he has a spine attached to his head mount already.. either way, I'm very interested in him. Hell, I think I'd do anything just to get my hands on a coyote pup pelt at this time :p your work is beautiful though, I'm super excited to see him all done and pretty. Since his weight was.. so 'little', is he just as small length wise? Adele was about 38 inches. :)

Tanning is an art as much as a science!

I don't remember the exact length on this guy, but I think it was around 20 inches from the nose to the base of the tail. He's not just a light weight, he's a young yote. About half grown.

Fft :dummy: he's THAT small?!

God I want him even more now, he'd be Perfect to carry around places. :(

I have an opossum I'm having skinned and tanned for a soft mount soon, going to cost me 150 to skin/tan him and I haven't yet been messaged back on the price for his mounting.. but god he's beautiful. He's about the same size as the pup, maybe a little smaller. Weighed a whopping 15lbs alive.

Woah! Who is charging you 150 to skin and tan a opossum? That's insane. Send him to me, I'll skin, tan and mount him for that.

I think he's that small, I'll have to double check when he gets back from the tanner, he was the smallest yote I ever came across!

how is it offensive? im not bashing the craft, im not freaking out over 'omg eew dead things!' like some ppl are. Phoenix knows what I'm getting at with the comment and was ok with it.
Though if you'd rather, I can just stop commenting on Phoenix's work altogether since im sure someone somewhere will be offended by pretty much anything i say. Wouldn't want to upset someone. <_<

actually that would bother me less than a stuffed dead animal in my living room. I'm a voracious carnivore so meat thats been cut and cooked till you can barely tell what it once was is no issue with me.
