New Opal Industrial by Phoenix-Cry New Opal Industrial by Phoenix-Cry
About a year ago I got an industrial piercing (any two or more holes connected by a bar) that just never healed right. I loved it dearly, but had to take it out.

Recently someone told me about a piercer that really knows his stuff so I decided to give it another try. I have to say that the piercer makes all the difference in the world so far! My first one was *so* painful to have done, this one was no pain at all (okay, maybe a little), it's only a few hours old and there is no heat, very little swelling, very little red. And he gave me some very detailed after care that really makes sense.

I wanted my industrial to be a little different so I didn't have him go through the front of my ear, rather the front of the bar takes a 90 degree turn and exits just before the curl over, this means there is no big silver ball on the front aspect of my ear, only on the back aspect. The 90 degree is secured with a plate instead.

The bar is long right now to allow for room for swelling, in three weeks I go back for a new bar that will have the ball fit snug against the back of my ear.

If you live in or near St. Paul, MN head over to the Holy Mackerel for your piercing!

And 'yes'...those are Doctor Who ear plugs!

I know what you mean in needing a professional who knows their stuff. I have a lady who I am really fond of but one of my piercings still hates me. I have taken it out and let it heal to re-pierce later, but sadly it still gives me trouble. Just like I absolutely love my industrial but it randomly gets pissed off at me and is all like "screw you I am gonna swell and puss for no reason." But I have 9 other successful piercings. So I do not mind. My nipples are probably my favorite piercing. They are really odd to play with.

It makes all the dif in the world! how long have you had your industrial?
Dancerjo666 Featured By Owner Apr 23, 2013
I have had this industrial for the last 2 years. The first one I had for 4 years of misery.

And to think I thought when I lasted six months of misery I thought I was doing good! My hope is to have this one healed in a year. That's what the piercer guy guessed.

Wow I would say he really knows his stuff. I hate piercers who tell you that its a couple weeks to heal. I only know of one person who healed in two weeks, everyone else its 8+ months.

I was very impressed that he told me right up front that it would take a year or more to heal.

Yeah. Most piercers say a few weeks. I would say you have yourself a winner. Too bad I didnt live closer, I would love to have someone like him. My lady is good but her priorities are definitely not where they should be.

This guy is awesome, he does a lot of training for other piecers and works to make sure that you know what you're getting into and that you have the knowledge to care for it right. Gave me a four page booklet on not just how to take care of it but also *why* to do it that way!
