Chapter Twenty-five

Neal sat in the corner of his eight by twelve home with his back against the wall.  The small bed built into the wall that he was sitting on was only marginally more comfortable than the floor.  With his knees pulled up to his chest he worked on a small paper origami crane.  Pouring all of his concentration into each fold he created a perfect bird.  He inspected his work with little actual interest in it.

Neal paced the ER waiting room anxiously.  He had reopened the wounds in his side but he had made it more than clear that he wasn't about to let anyone touch him.  Paramedics had taken Peter into OR less than ten minutes ago.  They had been unable to stabilize Peter on the ride to the hospital and his condition had continued to spiral downward.

Riding in the ambulance Neal had retold the story to the medics to help them determine what was wrong.  Beyond coughing up an alarming quantity of blood Peter's heart was arrhythmic and his blood pressure dropped to the point where he could not lon

Nine times out of ten when you see a fawn taxidermy it is a farm raised deer that died of natural causes. This little guy got pneumonia on a farm.

awww poor thing, its just we have a pet deer we adopted from a car crash his momma go killed so we got a licence for him, we're getting him checked for winter in case hes caught anything
